Ant Control for Your Kitchen and Home, Starting at the Nest

That trail of ants on the counter comes from a nest hidden inside the wall or under the tiles, where a queen lays eggs every day. Wipe the trail or spray it, and the nest just sends more. We put down bait that the ants themselves carry back to the queen, and you get a written guarantee.

About ants

Why do ants come back after spraying and wiping?

Ants don’t bite and don’t foul things the way cockroaches do, so people usually deal with them on their own: wipe the trail, spray it, or put down some vinegar. The ants disappear, and two days later they come out of a different crack.

The trail isn’t the problem

The ants walking across your counter are workers out looking for food, and they’re a small part of the colony. The real colony is inside the wall, under the tiles or in the garden soil, with a queen (sometimes more than one) laying eggs all the time. Kill a hundred ants on the counter and the queen replaces them within days. All you’ve lost is a few workers, and the nest is untouched.

Spraying makes ants split up

Ants follow a scent they leave on the ground, which is why they walk in a single line. When you spray or wipe with vinegar, that scent is erased, so they look for a new route and come out of a socket or another crack. Some small species, when the colony is disturbed, split into several nests in different places. So instead of one nest, you find ants in the kitchen, the bathroom and the bedroom.

Fast-acting poison is the wrong choice here

It may sound odd, but with ants, fast poison doesn’t help. If an ant dies next to the bait, it carries nothing back to the nest, and the queen is unaffected. The right bait is slow on purpose: the ant eats some, carries the rest home, and there it gets shared with the queen and the young. That takes a few days and some patience.

Ants are looking for food and water

Ants come into a home because they found food: crumbs under the toaster, a sugar jar left open, the cat’s bowl. In summer they look for water too, so you find them by the sink and under the air conditioner. If there’s easier food than the bait, they’ll go for the food and ignore the bait. That’s why keeping the counter clean during treatment is part of the job.

What finishes off the colony

The technician follows the trail to the crack it comes from, identifies the species, and puts a suitable bait where nobody will touch it. After that it’s your turn: let the bait work, with no spraying or wiping. Those days can feel slow, but they’re what gets the bait deep inside the nest.

The Formax method

How we get rid of ants in your home

  1. 1

    We follow the trail

The technician follows the line of ants from the food back to the crack they come out of, and checks the skirting, under the sink, around pipes and sockets, and the garden if there is one. The aim is to find the nest, or the closest point to it.

  2. 2

    We identify the species

Each species likes different food: some go for sugar, others prefer protein and fat. The species decides the bait, and with the wrong bait the ants simply won't take it.

  3. 3

A written plan and a final price

We tell you where the bait will go, whether the garden needs spraying, whether a follow-up is needed, and the final price. Nothing gets added once we've started.

  4. 4

Slow bait on the ants' route

Bait goes into cracks and along the trail, in spots nobody touches. It's slow on purpose, so each ant has time to carry it to the nest and feed the queen and the young before it's affected.

  5. 5

    Follow-up and a written guarantee

We send instructions on WhatsApp after the visit. The most important: don't wipe the trail or spray in the first few days. If ants come back during the guarantee period, the visit is free.

Safety

Safe for your children and pets while we treat ants

Before any spraying you know which product we use, how long to stay out and when to come back. Nothing is left to be explained after we finish.

  • Bait in cracks, not on the counter

Bait goes in hidden spots along the ants' route, away from food and dishes, and in very small amounts.

  • Children and pets

If you have a small child, a cat or a dog, tell us before the visit and the technician will put the bait where they can't reach it, or inside small closed stations.

  • Registered home-use products

We use products approved for homes. Garden spraying is aimed at the house entrances and the nest, not every plant in the garden.

Prices

How much will it cost?

The price of ant control depends on the size of the place, how many spots the ants are coming from, whether there's a garden that needs treating, and the species. Send a close-up photo of the ants and the place they're coming from, and we'll reply on WhatsApp with an initial quote. Our team answers calls and WhatsApp messages in Arabic and English.

01

Type of pest

Bed bugs need two visits, cockroaches need gel and follow-up, rodents need bait stations. Each pest has its own work.

02

Size of the place

A 90 m² flat is not a villa with a garden. The price follows the area that needs treatment.

03

How bad it is

If it has only just started, there is less work. If it has spread to several rooms, the plan grows.

04

Type of property

A home is not a restaurant or a warehouse. Commercial sites have periodic contracts with different pricing.

Send the type of pest (or a photo), the place and its approximate size, and we will reply with an initial price. The final price is confirmed after the inspection and before we start.

A 5-year guarantee in writing, not just words

A 5-year guarantee on the service, written on a certificate you receive at the end of the visit. If the pest comes back at any point during that period, one WhatsApp message and we come back.

  1. 1 The guarantee is written on a certificate you receive with the invoice, stating the pest and the guarantee period.
  2. 2 If the pest comes back within the guarantee period, the follow-up visit is free, no arguments.
  3. 3 The guarantee stays valid as long as you follow the technician’s after-treatment instructions (we send them to you in writing on WhatsApp).

Common questions

Questions about ant control

How can I get rid of ants for good?

You get rid of ants for good when the queen in the nest dies. The ants you see are only workers, and the queen keeps replacing them. That's why we put slow-acting bait along their route: the ants carry it to the nest and feed it to the queen and the young, so the whole colony goes, instead of you killing one trail and watching another replace it.

Why are there more ants after the technician put down bait?

That's normal for the first day or two, and it means the bait is working. The ants found food they like, so the nest sends more of them to carry it back. Let them get on with it, and don't wipe or spray the trail, even if the sight bothers you. After a few days the numbers drop as the bait reaches the queen and the young. If a week passes with no change, send us a photo on WhatsApp.

What works best for ants in the kitchen?

For ant control in the kitchen, bait in the cracks works better than spraying. Spray only kills the ants you can see, and its smell makes them change route and come out somewhere else. Keep the counter clear of sugar and crumbs, and store sugar and honey in tightly closed containers, so the ants go for the bait instead of your food.

Do vinegar and lemon keep ants away?

Only from the spot you wiped, and only for a while. Vinegar removes the scent trail the ants follow, so the line gets confused for a bit. The nest is untouched, though, and the ants will make a new route within a day or two, sometimes from a spot that's harder to reach. Getting rid of ants properly needs bait that reaches the queen. Vinegar is fine afterwards for cleaning the counter.

Is the bait safe if I have children?

Yes, when it's placed properly. Bait goes in very small amounts inside cracks and along the ants' route, away from places a child touches. If you have a crawling baby or a pet, tell us before the visit and the technician will use small closed stations instead of open bait, and show you where each one is.

What does the guarantee cover for ants?

The guarantee lasts 5 years and is written on a certificate you get with the invoice, showing the pest type and the duration. If ants come back in that time, we return and treat for free, provided you follow the instructions we send on WhatsApp. The main ones: don't spray over the bait, and keep sugar and honey in closed containers while the treatment works.
