Why do mosquitoes keep coming back however much you spray?
Many people who call us have already tried plug-in repellents, a spray before bed and a mosquito net. They get one good night, then the bites are back. All of those deal with mosquitoes that have already flown, while the water they came from is still sitting there.
It all starts with standing water
Only the female mosquito bites, because she needs blood to produce eggs. Then she looks for any still water to lay them in. The larvae live in that water, and in Egypt’s heat they turn into adult mosquitoes in about a week to ten days. So a plant saucer you forgot about on the balcony can turn out a fresh batch every week, however much you spray the bedroom.
The places you don’t think of
Most people look for a pond or a big tank, but the source is usually something small. What we find most often on inspections:
- A bucket under the AC drain hose, or water pooled in the unit’s tray.
- Plant saucers on the balcony and the roof.
- A rooftop water tank with a loose lid.
- A bathroom floor drain that hardly ever gets used.
- Inspection chambers and drains in the garden.
- Rain or irrigation water sitting on the pool cover or in the channels around the pool.
Spraying the air doesn’t last
A shop-bought aerosol kills the mosquitoes it touches, and soon there’s nothing left of it in the air. The ones that come out of the water that night fly into a room with no product in it. So we spray the surfaces mosquitoes land on during the day, like shaded walls and the undersides of leaves. The product stays there for a while and gets them every time they settle.
A garden needs a routine, not one spray
In villas and houses with gardens, the irrigation itself creates new breeding spots. Dense planting and trees give shade and damp, and that’s where mosquitoes rest. If the garden is sprayed once while a tap keeps leaking in the same corner, the mosquitoes will be back before the end of the month. When the mosquitoes come from outside
Sometimes we do all of this, the house is clean, and the mosquitoes are still coming from an empty plot next door or a nearby drainage canal. If that’s your situation, we’ll say so. The treatment then focuses on window screens and on spraying the spots where mosquitoes get in, so you aren’t paying for work that won’t make a difference.

The technician starts indoors, then covers the balconies, roof and garden, checking plant saucers, AC hoses, water tanks, drains, inspection chambers and the pool edges.

If you have a fountain with fish or an ornamental pond, tell us at the start. That water is treated differently, and not every product is safe to put in it.

Keep away from the pool until the spray dries
When we spray near a pool, we spray the edges and the plants around it, never the water. The family should stay away from that area until the technician says it's fine.

Children and pets away from sprayed plants
Children, dogs and cats shouldn't play under the trees or among sprayed plants until everything has dried. We use registered products approved for home use.

How much will it cost?
A flat with one problem bathroom or AC unit is a smaller job than a villa with a garden and a pool. The price depends on the garden size, the number of breeding spots and whether you need summer follow-up. A 90 m² flat is not a villa with a garden. The price follows the area that needs treatment.

Questions about mosquito control
How do I get rid of mosquitoes at home for good?
You get rid of mosquitoes for good by shutting down the places they breed, because a spray only kills the ones already flying. Find any standing water in and around the house and empty it, and have whatever can't be emptied treated. Then spray the shady spots where they rest. If you've done all that and they're still around, there's a breeding spot you haven't found yet.
How much water do mosquitoes need to breed?
Very little. A plant saucer, an upturned bottle cap, an old tyre holding rainwater or the tray under an AC unit is enough. Any water left standing a few days in hot weather can produce mosquitoes, so our inspection covers the small details people usually miss.
Does mosquito control include spraying inside the rooms?
Sometimes, but that isn't the main part of mosquito control. In flats we spray where mosquitoes rest, such as behind wardrobes, under beds and in bathrooms. Most of the work happens at the water source, in the garden and on the balconies, because that's where new mosquitoes come from every day, not from inside your rooms.
I have a villa with a big garden. Is spraying enough?
Not on its own. Mosquito treatment for a villa with a large garden also has to cover the water points: drains, inspection chambers, irrigation outlets and the edges of the pool. After that we spray the shade under the trees and along the boundary walls. In summer, follow-up visits are worth it, because irrigation and heat keep creating new breeding spots.
Are mosquito bites dangerous?
Usually they just itch and go red. Some people react more and the bite swells, and children may scratch until the skin breaks. If there's anything beyond ordinary itching, like a fever or a lot of swelling, see a doctor. Our part is cutting down the number of mosquitoes around you.
If I drain all the water, will the mosquitoes disappear straight away?
You'll see far fewer, but not on the same day. Adult mosquitoes can live for days after their breeding spots are gone, which is why we also spray where they rest. Some may also fly in from a neighbour's house or a nearby empty plot, and if that's happening we'll tell you honestly during the inspection.
What does the guarantee cover for mosquitoes?
The guarantee is a written certificate that comes with the invoice and states the pest and the duration. If mosquitoes start breeding again in the spots we treated, we come back at no charge. The condition is that you follow the instructions we send on WhatsApp, such as not letting fresh water collect in plant pots or under the AC.
