Tick control for your home and garden

You pull a tick out of your dog's ear every day and find another the next morning, or you spot a small brown dot crawling up the wall. That means ticks have settled in your home, hiding in cracks and around the places pets sleep. We treat those spots, and your vet treats the pet in the same week.

About ticks

Why do ticks keep coming back after you remove them?

People tend to think you can deal with ticks by hand: pull one out of the dog’s ear, throw it away, done. But the people who call us have usually been doing exactly that for weeks, finding a new one every day. A tick spends only a few days on the dog, feeding, and the rest of its life in the cracks and corners nearby.

The female drops off to lay eggs in your home

Once a female has fed, she leaves the animal for somewhere hidden: a crack in the wall, under a skirting board, behind a picture frame. There she lays a large batch of eggs in one go. The hatchlings wait for the first animal to pass, and nobody notices because they’re so hard to see. Brown dog ticks in particular like to climb, so you may find them in a crack near the ceiling or behind a curtain, well away from where the dog sleeps. That’s why spraying around the dog’s bed isn’t enough on its own.

They can go hungry for a long time

Ticks survive a long time without feeding. If the dog moves house, or is treated and clean, the ticks in the cracks are still there, waiting. It’s also why people who move their dog out to the garden or the roof still find ticks in the flat a while later.

Collars and shampoo don’t treat the house

What your vet gives the pet matters, and we ask for it in every case. But it protects the animal and doesn’t reach the ticks in the cracks or the garden. And if we spray the house and the dog comes back carrying ticks, a new cycle starts. The answer is to do both in the same week.

The garden and the roof

In houses with gardens, ticks sit in long grass, under trees and along the walls where dogs like to lie. Roofs with pigeon or chicken coops have their own kind of tick, which hides in cracks in the wood and brickwork by day and crawls onto the birds at night. If that area isn’t treated, ticks will keep reaching the pets or coming down into the flat. In our videos you’ll see the technicians spraying gardens and the ground under trees, and that is a big part of any tick job.

Sealing cracks makes a difference

After treatment, fill the cracks in the walls or skirting boards that the technician marked, using filler or silicone. Ticks then have a much harder time finding somewhere to lay eggs. It’s one of the instructions we send you on WhatsApp, and it makes a real difference to whether they come back.

The Formax method

How we get rid of ticks in your home

  1. 1

    Inspecting pet areas and cracks

The technician checks the dog's bed, skirting boards, cracks in walls and door frames, and behind picture frames, plus any garden or roof with birds.

  2. 2

A written plan and the price before we start

We tell you the areas we'll treat, when your pet should be treated, the number of visits and the final price, which doesn't go up once work starts.

  3. 3

Targeted spraying of cracks, not open floor

Ticks don't sit in the middle of the room. We apply the product in cracks, under skirting boards, around the places pets sleep and in the high spots brown dog ticks climb to.

  4. 4

    Treating the garden or roof

In the garden we spray long grass, under the trees, along the walls and wherever the dogs lie. On a roof we treat the cracks in the coops and in the wood and walls around them.

  5. 5

    Follow-up and a written guarantee

We come back for a follow-up visit to catch ticks that hatched after the first one. We send you the instructions on WhatsApp and follow up every 3 months.

Safety

Safe for your children and pets while we treat ticks

Before any spraying you know which product we use, how long to stay out and when to come back. Nothing is left to be explained after we finish.

  • Dogs and cats out during spraying

Pets leave before we spray and come back once the area is dry and aired. Only your vet should put anything on the animal itself.

  • A separate plan for birds

If we're treating a roof with pigeons or chickens, we agree with you where the birds will go and when they come back. Their food and water are taken away before spraying.

  • Registered products for home use

We use products approved for homes and put them in cracks, not on surfaces people touch every day. If there are young children or a pregnant woman in the house, let us know before the visit.

Prices

How much will it cost?

The price depends on the size of the home, whether there's a garden or a roof with birds, and how many pets you have and where they sleep. Send a photo of the tick and where you found it on WhatsApp, plus the garden or roof if you have one, and we'll reply with an initial price. Our team answers calls and WhatsApp messages in Arabic and English.

01

Type of pest

Bed bugs need two visits, cockroaches need gel and follow-up, rodents need bait stations. Each pest has its own work.

02

Size of the place

A 90 m² flat is not a villa with a garden. The price follows the area that needs treatment.

03

How bad it is

If it has only just started, there is less work. If it has spread to several rooms, the plan grows.

04

Type of property

A home is not a restaurant or a warehouse. Commercial sites have periodic contracts with different pricing.

Send the type of pest (or a photo), the place and its approximate size, and we will reply with an initial price. The final price is confirmed after the inspection and before we start.

A 5-year guarantee in writing, not just words

A 5-year guarantee on the service, written on a certificate you receive at the end of the visit. If the pest comes back at any point during that period, one WhatsApp message and we come back.

  1. 1 The guarantee is written on a certificate you receive with the invoice, stating the pest and the guarantee period.
  2. 2 If the pest comes back within the guarantee period, the follow-up visit is free, no arguments.
  3. 3 The guarantee stays valid as long as you follow the technician’s after-treatment instructions (we send them to you in writing on WhatsApp).

Common questions

Questions about tick control

How does tick control work in a home?

Tick control starts with an inspection to find where the ticks are hiding: wall cracks, under skirting boards, around the pet's bed, and in the garden or on the roof. Then we spray those spots, your vet treats the pet in the same week, and a follow-up visit catches whatever hatches from the eggs. Leave out any one of these and the ticks come back.

I removed the ticks from my dog. Why do they keep appearing?

Because the ones on the dog are only some of the ticks in the house. A female feeds, drops off and lays eggs in a crack or corner, and the young wait for the dog to pass. Every time you remove one, more are on the way. Getting rid of ticks means treating the place and the pet together.

How long can ticks live without feeding?

A long time, possibly months, depending on the type and the weather. If the dog moves out or goes away, the ticks in the cracks don't die. They wait for the first animal or person to pass. That's one reason our visit covers the whole house, not just where the pet sleeps.

Do ticks bite people?

Yes, especially once there are many of them or the pet is no longer around. They usually attach in places like behind the knee or around the waist. If you find a tick attached to you, or you get a fever or rash after a bite, see a doctor. Our job is to reduce the ticks in your home so it doesn't come to that.

I keep pigeons on my roof and there are ticks. What do you do?

We treat the coops and the cracks around them, because bird ticks hide there by day and come out at night. We agree with you where the birds go during spraying and when they return, and tell you what to clean before the visit. If ticks have started coming down into the flat, we also treat the cracks and windows below the roof so they can't find a way down.

Can ticks be wiped out in one visit?

Usually not. Getting rid of ticks takes a follow-up visit, because eggs hidden in cracks hatch after the first one. The technician times the follow-up by the size of the infestation. For a large one in a big garden or on a roof with many birds, we'll tell you at the inspection it may need more.

Does the guarantee cover ticks?

Yes. The guarantee is a written certificate that comes with the invoice and states the pest and the duration. If ticks come back during the guarantee period, we treat again free of charge, as long as you follow the instructions we send on WhatsApp. The most important ones are keeping your pet under a vet's care and sealing the cracks the technician marked.
